Transport Modelling Analysis

Transport Modelling Analysis

The Department of State Development, Manufacturing, Infrastructure and Planning (DSDMIP) is undertaking a research project aimed at collecting freight and logistics data, which will support a transit modelling analysis currently being undertaken within the Central Queensland and Wide Bay Burnett regions. The project aims to support a business case to prioritise transport infrastructure and improvement projects within the regions and improve connectivity.

The objective of this work is to gain an understanding of the type, quantum and value of products that are transported within, to, from, and through the region.

The data collected will be provided to the Transport Analytics Project (TAP) which is undertaken by CSIRO using the TRANSiT modelling tool. The project is prepared on behalf of the Wide Bay Burnett Region of Councils (WBBROC), Gladstone Regional Council, Gladstone Ports Corporation and the Department of Transport and Main Roads.
