In 1996 Phil and his family moved to Brisbane, where he led a number of State government teams with responsibilities such as policy, research, industry development and SEQ regional development as well as projects such as a 2006 review of the Department of State Development’s grants schemes.

In 2007 Phil and Margaret moved to Central Queensland when Phil was appointed as Regional Director with the (then) Department of Tourism, Regional Development and Innovation, delivering the State government’s industry and economic development services and establishing close relationships with many key organisations and representatives throughout the region. Phil remained in this position until retiring in August 2015.

Along with running pH7 Consulting, Phil also remains active in economic development as Secretary and Vice-president of the Capricornia Chamber of Commerce.  He draws on his extensive network of contacts and varied range of experiences over his working life to inform the value and services that he can offer, including through pH7 Consulting.

Phil is passionate about contributing to regional development and regional communities as evidenced by his appointment in December 2016 as Chair of the Capricorn Village Festival Ltd.
