A brief history…
The Capricornia Chamber of Commerce was formed in June 2013, after resounding feedback from the business community that a chamber presence in this region is vital for the growth and sustainability of business and industry.
The Chamber committee have a strong commitment to support the business community in Capricornia and are passionate about this region, and the opportunities represented here.
We believe that The Capricornia region is in a prime position to launch itself into the future and offer a dynamic environment for existing and potential businesses, in which to prosper and grow.
The vision of the committee is clear, their mission is achievable and their values unwavering.

The Capricornia Chamber of Commerce committee is a team of dedicated volunteers who are committed to helping local businesses grow their networks and become more effective.
Phil is the owner and director of pH7 Consulting, established in 2015 after a long and diverse public service career that commenced in 1970 at the Department of Immigration. From 1975 Phil worked in the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, both in Canberra and overseas. Phil then moved to Brisbane with the State Government before retiring as Regional Director, Fitzroy and Central West, Department of State Development based in Rockhampton, a role he held for over 7 years.
Following retirement, Phil established an economic and organisational development consultancy, pH7 Consulting. This foray into the private sector led him to join the Capricornia Chamber of Commerce where in 2017 he became Secretary and then, in February 2019, Acting President before being confirmed in that role at the Chamber’s 2019 AGM in September 2019.
Phil is also Chair of the Capricorn Village Festival Ltd and active in the MG Club of Queensland’s Capricornia Chapter.
Phil and his wife Margaret live in Yeppoon.
Geoff Lee is a Finance Consultant with local accounting firm HHH Partners. He currently looks after a portfolio of customers from Yeppoon to Rockhampton and Gracemere as well as the Emerald & Gladstone regions. Geoff was raised in the Riverina (South West NSW). He has had a banking career spanning over 35 years with banking and lending experience in small business, corporate and agribusiness. His experience has been built up assisting his customers over a number of states & territories during this time. He has worked from remote areas in the Northern Territory (where he has met customers some 700 km from his office in Katherine) to the high country around Bathurst, Oberon & Blayney down to the Hay plains near Deniliquin in NSW. For the last 15 years, he has resided in Rockhampton where he has continued to look after a diverse range of customers. Geoff is married with 2 children and is a keen traveller having driven around most of the Australian mainland as well as riding a motorbike around Vietnam in recent years.
Angela started her recruitment career 15 years ago and has worked within the recruitment and facility services industries since. Currently, as Senior Business Manager for IPA in Rockhampton, Angela manages a vast region including Wide Bay Fraser Coast, Bowen Basin and Mackay. Her passion for small to medium business was birthed from owning her own retail business in Rockhampton, for 9 years, combined with client service partnerships for the previous 15 years. She is committed to being a part of a committee who represents and advocates for small to medium business and facilitate networking and engagement.
Living in Capricornia for over 40 years, Angela is very much a local and dedicated to our wonderful region. She loves to cook, and is a mother to four amazing children. She lives by her personal motto of “you choose your attitude”.
Co-founder and main geek at Almost Anything. Jason has a passion for innovation, experimentation, and coffee. He has over two decades of experience helping businesses get online and embrace all things digital. More recently he has made it his mission to help businesses brand and differentiate themselves effectively.
He travelled to Los Angeles in February 2020 to obtain his “Certified Brand Strategist” qualifications. One of the few people who’ll be able to say they visited the USA in 2020!
He can also quote most of the script from Monty Python & the Holy Grail.
Warren’s business ownership experience spans over 20 years and includes ownership of fast food businesses and franchised and non-franchised construction industry businesses.
Working in Central Queensland most of his life and New Zealand from 1990 to 1993 Warren has gained extensive experience in various roles including supervisory and management experience in lean manufacturing, recycling processes, electric and gas furnace operations, engineering jobbing shops, Structural steel fabrication and erection and abattoir processes.
Starting an apprenticeship in 1977 Warren’s career has evolved to work for the Queensland Government as a Senior State Development Officer and Commerce Queensland and the Federal Government as a Business Advisor and currently with MRAEL/Mas experience as an Australian Apprenticeship Support Network provider Business Consultant; where his role entails preparing and facilitating the completion of Training Contracts and associated administrative tasks for School-Based Trainees, Traineeships and Apprenticeships and assisting Employers and Apprentices with federal government incentive applications and claims.
Warren was born, raised and has worked most of his life in his favourite place to be…. Rockhampton, where he and his wife Jill enjoy maintaining their 4000m2 Olive Estate house, blocks lawns and gardens, fishing, camping and spending quality time with their children and grandchildren.
